A lot of files (specially huge ones) are not popular hence not seeded my many. Mega provides high speed on every single file uploaded. There's no good way to browse what's new in the scene. I wouldn't have come to know about Gaurdians of Galaxy 2 Blu ray rips if I didn't visit this sub. Both "top 100" and "new" sections on TPB are useless in that regard.

You can't get in trouble for downloading from MEGA with your ISP. I have 5 strikes on my account from when I used to torrent like an idiot in high school. I get caught one more time torrenting and I'm looking to pay several hundred to a couple thousand dollars in fines and whatever else on top.
Why torrent Guradians of the Galaxy volume 2 when someone will upload iTunes ripped 1080p file and later on, some will upload a full on bluray rip of the movie for those that want it? With Mega, I download at full speeds whereas with torrents I'm dependent on seeders/leechers.

For me it's all about speed. A torrent with low seeds can take forever or never download at all. With MEGA, you download directly from the source and at your full download speed.
in addition to all the good points about download speeds, a top 5 feature for me is lightning fast "importing". You can have hundreds of mega accounts (use megatools and multcloud.com to manage) and import files for backup and later download. It's a quality feature.

Encrypt algorithm is basically like this. Fast enough to be fast when you know password but slow enough to be too slow without know password. Let's say takes 3 second to import. With 8 character password (using a-z A-Z 1-9), that mean 218340105584896 possible password. 3 seconds per import means * 3 = 655020316754688. Divide by 2 because maybe they will get to it halfway through on average. So 327510158377344 total second. Which means 10,385,278 years. Even if import time is only 100ms, still is HUGE amount of time. Fear not for encryption.

Yeah. Recently Mega patched the bypass for bandwidth limit which megadownloader and many other downloaders were using so that we were no longer to able to download large files (5gb+) without changing IP address. Programs like Megadownloader, megatools, jdownloader and mipony were all effected.
As another deadbeat lurker, you 'content managers' are doing the lords work!

There is a bug in mega that will allow you to store more than their free allowed capacity if you import folders. Basically, You can just import 2 of your accounts into the other one to bypass the limit.
