Elfen Lied and Black Lagoon for the matura blood/gore anime. Berserk is a really good Manga but sadly the anime counterpart has been lackluster

I've heard that too. I don't know if it's just the CGI that's bad and that the show itself is good or if the show itself is also bad.

Drifters. Only one season out, but it's done by the same guy as Hellsing. The premise is the souls of dead warriors from across human history being brought back to life in a fantasy world. Great fun.
