Thanks man!

2 quick questions though. Is this real 1080p and is the movie watchable with these subs or should i wait for proper subs to come out?

Thanks again!

[-] Ravipratap95 | 3 points | May 19 2017 16:21:35

we encoded this from a 47gb dic source Subs are proper this time hopefully , but i havent watched whole movie to guarantee that .

Now you decide the quality , and please do give feedback on the subs

Why not? People should know they need to download the subtitles from somewhere else if they need subtitles. The problem with these subtitles is they are too small to see. They are also coded in such a way that they can not be resized in vlc. The subtitles are actually pretty good but strain the eyes too much to watch for more than half a minute and you will miss what is going on with the animation which is what makes this anime.

Anime Kaizoku stuff is never truly 1080p

permalink

[-] habibexpress | 1 points | May 20 2017 02:15:36

then what is it?

permalink

[-] JLChamberlain42 | 1 points | May 20 2017 06:52:13

Less than 2GB for a 1080p film immediately indicates that it has been encoded down to have a smaller size. To make it smaller they have to sacrifice the quality of the video and audio to make it smaller. That's probably why the use the awful audio type known HEVC.

[-] parashivsihaniya | 2 points | May 20 2017 10:13:59

You're probably trolling. I've been downloading movies from PSARips for the past 2 years (sized around 2-3 gigs, encoded in HEVC) and never have I encountered an encode with shitty quality.

permalink

[-] JLChamberlain42 | 2 points | May 20 2017 10:48:19

I'm not saying there shitty. I'm just saying they are not as good as the source material they use for the encode which range from 4-9GB (Depending on the film).

[-] justaway2 | 7 points | May 20 2017 12:37:33

What are you talking about? Any kind of lossy codec would not be as good as the source. If the source material is Bluray, then it's on the order of 25GB, not 4-9GB. Anime content happens to be very compressible. Re-encoding 1080p anime down to 3GB using HEVC has minimal quality loss.

I used to encode for a pretty prominent fansub group, so I would know.

[-] JLChamberlain42 | 2 points | May 20 2017 12:39:19

25GB would be the whole BDMV. When you use a ripping software to just get the main content it's 4-9GB.

[-] garfnon | 3 points | May 20 2017 15:48:21

Blurays average about 40mbps uncompressed, which means a 90 minute movie would be ~27gb. While the quality of those 4-9gb encodes are fine, they are definitely compressed.

Can you please provide a screenshot of the problem ?

have you tried it with a different player? if not, try MPC-HC. :)

permalink

[-] OGPotato12 | 1 points | May 22 2017 09:00:19

Thank you. It's working perfectly.

What was the difference if I may ask?

permalink

[-] [deleted] | 2 points | May 22 2017 13:57:49

hmm i think it's because MPC-HC supports higher bit-rates than other players. I had a similar problem before where it won't play an 8-bit film with VLC but when i played it with MPC-HC it worked fine. Sorry, I don't know much about tech but I'm glad it works now!
